     Can you believe it - last stretch and I have two setbacks in a row...

     This was pretty incredible.  As I was misting the ship with light ghost grey (having run out of the primary hull color - it's a little light, but close enough for touch-ups), the pressure from the airbrush actually fractured and blew apart a decal!  The decal that suffered is the large orange one in front of the auxiliary deflector.  

     I believe that it's permanently fixed as of the time of this writing, however.  I picked up the pieces (that were extremely fragile) and put them back on the model with a fine paintbrush and water.  I then used decal setting solution to make it all one piece again.  Over time, the decal curled, so I mixed elmer's glue with water and brushed that over the whole decal.  This seems to have worked perfectly (per the picture below).
